Josalin Brausen

Masters level counseling practitioner

First, I want to say that you are brave for being here! Pursuing therapy, being vulnerable, and putting the hard work into ourselves can feel intimidating. I hope to put you at ease and help make the process as enjoyable as possible by fostering open and honest communication. As a part of the LGBTQIA+ community, I am passionate about creating a safe space where everyone can feel heard, valued, supported, and unapologetically YOU. I use various approaches in my work, as no two people or situations are the same. Some common threads throughout therapy with me are a strengths-based attitude and the belief that you are the expert in your own life. I aim to travel alongside you rather than lead you, in hopes that you feel empowered and discover your resiliency. My specific interests include, but are not limited to, anxiety, depression, promoting sexual enjoyment within individuals and relationships, value/identity exploration, sexual trauma, and religious trauma.

I have a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of St Thomas and am currently a graduate student pursuing a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at St. Thomas’ Graduate School of Professional Psychology. I also am enrolled in the Sex Therapy Certificate Program at UW-Stout.

I look forward to meeting you and being a part of your journey!
