Letter to Job Corps 💙

Dear Staff, Students, and Families of the Hubert H. Humphrey Job Corps Center,

We were surprised to learn of the closing of Job Corps Centers after many years of success. My practicum experience at the Saint Paul location was a great learning environment for me to complete a Master’s degree in the 90’s. That experience was so impactful that I remained there for an additional ten years! The dedication of the staff has led to remarkable growth and leadership displayed within the student body. The Job Corps program is a transformative experience for so many young adults, and I firmly believe that Job Corps works.

It was with great sadness that we at Grander Peace Counseling learned about the recent unforeseen funding changes that are unfortunately causing the Saint Paul location to send students home. Understanding the profound impact this news must be having on everyone involved, we felt compelled to offer our support during this difficult time. Grander Peace Counseling is prepared to extend essential mental health services to the dedicated staff members, the students, and their families. We want to provide a safe and supportive space to navigate the emotions and adjustments that this situation may bring. We encourage you to reach out and schedule a meeting with one of our experienced Mental Health Interns who are ready to assist you.

Sincerely,

Sheena O'Brien
