My approach is integrative and trauma-focused, and includes the use of use of both “top-down” (mind) and “bottom-up” (body) techniques. Current services include individual psychotherapy (EMDR) and somatic therapy (trauma-releasing yoga) for adults via telehealth or in-person at the Grand Ave office. Focus areas include:

My name is Tahmi (pronounced TOM-EE; she/her) and I have worked in a private practice setting for over 10 years. Other related work experience consists of both direct and indirect roles in a variety of settings such as non-profits, public health crisis response, community-based mental health, and chemical dependency detoxification and outpatient treatment.
My education includes a Master of Science degree in Mental Health Counseling and a post-graduate certificate in Addiction Studies. I am dually licensed as a Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) and Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) with the Behavioral Board of Health & Therapy in the state of Minnesota, specializing in co-occurring issues and trauma-informed practices.
I’m trained in EMDR therapy, which is my primary therapeutic method. I also have training and experience in numerous somatic modalities, such as Hatha Yoga Teacher Training, Yoga of 12-Step Recovery, Trauma Center Trauma-Sensitive Yoga, and Tension & Trauma-Releasing Exercises.
